2012 haul - a whopping 6 lbs.
Haven’t posted in a while, but this is some of what I was up to…

handspun hat. this is made from bfl… 2-ply, about 130-ish yards, fingering weight (even though i was trying to spin much thicker).

progress.
still working on my gradient spin. i’ve spun about 7 or 8 oz of singles so far, and i have about 17 more to go. working on fiber in 1 oz bites is very fulfilling. progress is easy to see. have i mentioned how much i love corgi hill farm colorways. and how much i love spinning bfl?

why stop at one addiction?

Fiber shenanigans...

My favorite fiber vendor is celebrating her 3 yr anniversary! Best colorways on the block!

Next up… a gradient spin.
I’m using some dyed BFL from Corgi Hill Farm (yes… pretty much everything I spin is from CHF). Each braid is 5 oz, and I’ve separated each braid into 5, 1 oz pieces. Let the spinning begin!

Now… it’s time to spin!

Processing another fleece: 2.5 lbs Cormo X

I’ll be washing this up soon, but the color is amazing, and the fleece is so soft and clean! This will make a lovely, cozy, snuggly sweater :0)

Processing another fleece: 4 lbs of black Shetland…
Currently making samples (bottom to top) - single, 2-ply, 2x2 cable, combed, leftovers in the comb
5.0 oz of Rambouillet finished!
2-ply (braid split in half), light fingering weight, 425 yds
Shetland processing…
I will be stuck on step one for quite. some. time.
I combed for about 2-3 hours… and yeah… this is probably like 2 ounces. I still have over 2 pounds left. Oh… and I have 2 more fleeces coming this month! :O
Further into the rabbit hole…
Corgi Hill Farm Rambouillet in progress…
Spinning this worsted (short forward draw) as it is very springy fiber and it is easier for me to manage that way. This was my first time spinning Rambo and it  is ridiculously soft, has a very slight sheen, and like blue face leicester, glows when blue/green dye is on it. Very lovely. Can’t wait till it’s finished!
more stash enhancement…
two if by hand “radical librarian” on superwash merino. this colorway is insanity!
next on the wheel: rambouillet!
i’ve been trying to get my hands on this fiber for months now, so now it’s time to see what all the hype is about. so far, just on touch alone, it is super soft and luxurious.
it takes dye in a very muted, watercolor way (like shetland), so dye is not as vibrant as it is on something like polwarth (one of my favorite fibers). so we’ll see…
